TV Show Description:

Family is power. The Original Vampire family swore it to each other a thousand years ago. They pledged to remain together, always and forever. Now, centuries have passed, and the bonds of family are broken. Time, tragedy and hunger for power have torn the Original Family apart.

Klaus Mikaelson, the original vampire-werewolf hybrid, has returned to New Orleans, the city his family helped build, the city from which he and his siblings – Elijah and Rebekah – were exiled a century ago by their relentless hunter father. Drawn back by a mysterious tip that a plot is brewing against him in the supernatural melting pot that is the French Quarter, Klaus is surprised that the city still feels like home to him despite the decades he’s been away.

Curious as to why Klaus would return to the one place he swore he would never set foot again, Elijah follows his brother and learns that the beautiful and rebellious werewolf Hayley – Klaus’ onetime flame – has also come to the French Quarter searching for clues to her family history. Hayley has fallen into the hands of a powerful witch named Sophie Deveraux. When Sophie reveals to the brothers the almost unbelievable news that Hayley is carrying Klaus’ unborn child, Elijah realizes that the Original family has been given a second chance at humanity and the redemption they desperately crave.

Us Girls Have Got To Stick Together

I'm liking this show more then the other one!

You know the one? There's two ladies and a young girl who whooped some major tail in this episode. Whether they were straight up cracking some bones or sparring with some edge on their words. I love it when the females step up to the plate and knock you out!!! The thrills are aplenty with all the manipulations and betrayals. So let's get ready to Mardi Gras every Tuesday people!!! See You on the Flip Side~HEE

"The Casket Girls" 01/14/14 - Review by Helena E. Eseloma

"For centuries people have come to New Orleans looking for a fresh start. Hoping to find fortune, adventure, even love. Young society women imported from France with the promise of marrying a proper New Orleans gentleman like the legendary casket girls. Little did they know that the men who awaited them were far from proper and not at all gentle."

Rebekah narrates the beginning in a flashback to the Louisiana Territory, 1751. Where she rescues three women from their unknown fate.

Present Day New Orleans

People are in the streets celebrating the casket girl legend in typical New Orleans fashion. Rebekah is walking along with a smile on her face.

Davina is still trying to break Cami of Klaus' compulsion, a very painful experience seeing her all sweaty and grimacing.
Hayley is wearing a wedding dress in honor of the casket girls and Elijah helps her to zip up. He offers to take her to the festivities, but she refuses because he and Klaus are on rocky ground at best. He unzips her and there's your romantic angst.

Rebekah can't find a costume she likes and Marcel comes upon her grumbling. He's trying to be nice, but she isn't having it. He made his choice and it wasn't her, again. Klaus calls Marcel confirming his decision.

Klaus informs Marcel that Davina is gone.

Back to Davina, Cami and Josh. The compulsion breaking continues. Cami remembers the picture of Klaus and Marcel from 1919.

Klaus and Marcel are talking about Davina. Klaus thinks she escaped? Which she did in a way. Elijah arrives and thinks she left of her volition? Which can be true to since she did leave on her own. Marcel gets too close for comfort to Elijah while accusing him of taking Davina. He kindly suggests Marcel take a step back.

These vampires playing at being tough cracks me up.

Klaus tells them both if Davina is not a friend she will be eliminated he walks off telling them to follow his lead. Elijah holds Marcel back and they both vow that no harm will come to Davina.

Hayley comes upon Rebekah and they start talking about Davina being missing. Hayley tells Rebekah that she told Davina about the witch elders being dead and that she was more upset with Marcel for not telling her she was free.

They're kind of having a bonding moment.

Rebekah reels off the slights against Davina. Used by the witches, lied to by Marcel, manipulated by Elijah and threatened by Klaus. It's like she's a modern day casket girl. Hayley asks is she talking about Davina or herself? Rebekah asks does it matter? Either way us girls have got to stick together.

Sophie is getting a bit of lip action before she's interrupted by another witch. Who comes to inform her that Davina is not with Marcel so they can do magic and go after her themselves.

Davina gives Cami vervain water to drink so that she can't be compelled. Josh hasn't eaten and asks Cami if she has any blood around somewhere.

Uh no buddy she doesn't just the blood flowing through her veins.

Davina feels Sophie doing the locater spell and knows they're looking for her. Cami says they need to run.

Sophie calls Hayley asking for her help, but of course Hayley has no reason to assist her. Sophie knows about the curse on Hayley's bloodline because her own bloodline executed that curse. So if Hayley doesn't get the location of Celeste Dubuois' remains so that Sophie can gain her power and complete the harvest. The curse will stay unbroken forever.

Cami and Davina are walking the streets, but almost bump into Klaus so head into the alley. Klaus sees Marcel and Elijah being all cozy. Rebekah arrives just as they are talking. Klaus approaches Davina's friend Timothy and compels him. He then calls Josh and tells him to tell Davina to come home.

Cami and Davina are at the church when they get Josh's call. Davina is going to rescue Timothy, but then the witches arrive. Davina is too strong for them and she kills them out right. She checks on Cami then runs out.

Hayley goes to the other Mikaelson mansion to go through Elijah's journals to find Celeste's location. She's remorseful, but not enough that she won't get the information.

Josh stops Davina on her way to Tim. He's worried about her, but she assures him that she's strong and if they hurt Tim she's going to kill them all. Josh hesitates to tell her something and only encourages her to not hold back. Davina leaves and Rebekah is right there to confront Josh. She tells him he noble for not telling Davina what will happen if she kills Klaus, but the thing is she can't kill Klaus. He will only kill her and that would be senseless. So she wants Josh to help her help Davina.

Klaus, Elijah and Marcel are waiting for Davina. She arrives to see Timothy up on a beam and wants him down. Klaus tells her only after they have a chat, but the only one talking is Davina.

"You pretend to be so confident, but I know the truth. You're afraid everyone can see what you really are. An animal." She over powers Klaus and he is down. You can hear his bones cracking. Marcel and Elijah try to come to his aid, but they are no match for Davina.

"A beast," she calls Klaus and his bones continue to break. "Why don't you show us your real face?" Klaus is starting to turn, but then Davina is done playing with him and tosses him to the side.

Next is Elijah, "You. You looked me in the eyes and lied to my face. Pretended you wanted to help me. You call yourself the noble one, but you're a killer just like your brother. For a thousand years you fed on innocent blood. Why don't you choke on it?"

Finally she gets to Marcel, "And you. I trusted you. I loved you, but you were just using me to stay in power. You don't care about me. When you lost to Klaus you handed me over like some trophy. Maybe I should boil you in bronze?"

Rebekah stakes Marcel from behind ruining his chance of convincing Davina she is wrong about him. Rebekah proves to Davina that she can be trusted by not killing Josh and helping to get Tim down.

Hayley and Sophie are on the phone talking about the location. Hayley is actually encouraging the witch to do the best she can to find Celeste's remains and she does.

Rebekah brings Davina to the dungeons to show her Marcel's handy work, "You think my brother Nik is awful? Marcel learned from the best. This is how he treats his so called friends who betray him. Most of what these poor souls did is no worse then what Josh did. Take Thierry for example. He was Marcel's most trusted friend. Klaus tricked him into breaking one of Marcel's rules. Marcel knows this and yet he keeps Thierry locked in here day after day suffering." Rebekah is showing Davina all this so she knows who she can trust. Davina is starting to cry and Tim comes to comfort her and gives her some water to drink. Tim starts having trouble breathing and says it was Klaus. He didn't even know what he was doing until it was too late. The water was poisoned.

Cami finally wakes up and she confronts Kieran about everything. She tells him he is as bad as the other monsters in this city.

Rebekah calls Nik to ask him what she can do to help Davina and Tim and he says there is nothing she can do.

Marcel and Elijah hear Klaus explain why he did what he did. Only to reveal that his actions were predictable and that they had an alliance all along. Marcel met with Sabine at the church and has her do the protection spell on Davina.

Davina wakes only to see that Tim is dead. She cries for him to wake up and not to leave her alone, but he won't because he's gone.

Rebekah returns to the compound carrying Davina. She lets Marcel take her and she stands there staring at her brothers. Elijah says nothing and walks away. Nik crosses his arms and Rebekah shakes her head in disapproval and walks back out of the compound.

Rebekah again narrates the story,

"It is said that this is a man's world and sometimes it is. For every casket girl that was saved countless others were not, but women are more resilient then given credit for. And some women, well let's just say their oppressors better watch out!!!"

Cami sees Klaus on the crowded streets and tells him about the de-compulsion. She threatens to expose him should anything happen to Davina or Josh then he'll lose the Quarter forever.

"I too am resilient and I'm tired of being oppressed. For a thousand years my brother has taken what he wants in whatever way he wants regardless of the consequences. Marcel seems determined to allow it and Elijah stands right by his side futilely waiting for the day he'll change." Here Rebekah is speaking to Thierry and feeding him blood.

"So men suck. What do you want me to do about?" Thierry questions Rebekah.

"Despite your dire warnings to Marcel he just can't seem to quit my brother. The two of them stand side by side ruling this city whilst your left in here to rot. I want you to help me take New Orleans right out from under all of their noses and I have something they won't see coming. Someone on the inside. She's quite the resilient girl herself."

Hayley and Elijah are having a slight moment and at the same time Sophie is digging up Celeste's remains.

Elijah puts Davina's sketches together telling Hayley that something sinister is coming. When they see the sketches are of Celeste. Elijah is quiet and Hayley leaves the room. She calls Sophie, but the witch doesn't pick up.
